I have a 30 odd build slave mixed farm (Linux and Windows slaves) humming along running on the latest Jenkins 1.6 version using graphical config screens and templates. At the time I was building this build system Jenkins 2 was very very Beta so not fit for production use yet. The Jenkins buildfarm is growing quickly doing longer build pipelines containing more and more jobs. So the task maintaining that is growing.
Quickly after the Fosdem Talks in February 2017 Cloudbees announced that Jenkins 2 was now LTS supported so it was time to move. The all new Pipeline looks very promising in simplifying managing these growing pipelines.
In this talk Frits tells about his experiences rebuilding his farm in Jenkins 2 pipeline, lesson's learned, tips and tricks.
