We've recently released CHICKEN 5, which is the biggest update to the CHICKEN Scheme compiler since the 4.0 release, almost 10 years ago.

If you'd like to know what CHICKEN 5 brings to the table, join this talk! I'll give a brief introduction to Scheme, explain why CHICKEN 5 is such a large overhaul and why this is good for you, as a programmer. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions, as well.

About CHICKEN

CHICKEN is a compiler for the Scheme programming language. It produces portable and efficient C and supports the R5RS and R7RS (work in progress) standards, and many extensions.

It runs on Linux, OS X, Windows, many Unix flavours, and aims to be free, simple, portable, extensible, well documented and actively supported. It has a vibrant community which maintains many add-on libraries ("eggs") for a wide variety of use cases, from web applications to embedded development.
